A New Challenge

looking out across the river (down the road)

I feel as though I'm in a bit of a photography rut. You know, being stuck inside with the same old things, then going outside to have everything look, well...white. It's been warm enough the past couple of days to go for our usual walk on this quiet road. I tried to challenge myself to see things that haven't changed in months in a new way. It certainly helped to have a gorgeous blue sky, a cute little one wearing my favorite hat, argyle socks with sneakers in the snow, and amazing scenery all around us.

Pines

So the challenge was good and I think it may have pushed me out of that rut just a tad. Although I look at these photos and am almost positive I have taken one like them in the past...

the point

The point. Gosh, she's getting so tall. Another round of sleepers were outgrown last week and she can now reach things on the kitchen counter. (Did I mention she got three more teeth last week? So that's a total of eight in two weeks!)

Sneakers in the snow

A stop for some traditional snow eating. The sneakers were all we had after we realized her boots had gotten too small. I'm too stubborn to buy more winter boots when I *hope* spring is just around the corner.

Family portrait

The family portrait. Hmmm...kind of looks familiar, doesn't it?!

oh, how I adore that hat

On the bike. I can not convey my affection for that hat. It goes with us everywhere and Alex even wears it to bed.

Almost there

And I think by next summer she might be able to pedal all by herself. But for now she is content with a push from Papa while she points excitedly to our neighbor's house and hums a little tune.

she really has grown taller. in like a week. i saw her teeth yesterday and i couldn't believe how many she had! she even said my name! i heard "bobbi" and then turned around and she had said it! gosh she's amazing. i love her hat too!! so much.

She is looking more and more grown up in the pictures recently.
I meant to tell you after reply to my colic post,My second was a breeze, complete easy sailing, eat, sleep, poop, cooing, and repeat. So if you start to get the broody feeling now that E is getting bigger, don't dismiss it completely:0)
I too refuse to buy Ollie new boots,He wore Griff's old ones yesterday, two sizes too big,but hey, they did the job:0)
Take care

You are inspiring me to get out to take some photos! We're due for another foot of snow this week--no signs of spring here (except for the brighter sun).

This made me laugh -- same old, same old inside and when you go out -- white. Still white. It's the same where I am. And then yesterday was brilliant blue sky and I took shadow pictures, too! Even if there's not much sign of spring, at least the sun is higher and brighter... that's something... I love her little argyle socks peeking out.

It seems they grow so much over the winter. I laughed about what you said about the snow boots. I do that to. Last year my daughter grew out of her ballet slippers one month before ballet was over for the summer- I ended up buying new ones and of course they didn't fit when ballet started again in the fall :)

cuuute.

Love the argyle socks!!

Oh, so much to love: the hat, the shadows, the eating snow!

I do know what you mean about a photography rut. I've been feeling it, too. I wish we had snow, though! Instead, I feel like everything is a bit gray right now. I figure it'll return soon enough.

I enjoyed the top photo very much.

Here in Oregon this time of year means brown. Brown mud, brown trees, mud, more mud...I'd take some white.

HI there,
Not sure if this will interest you or not, but February has brought me into a photographic rut as well. So...I have started a black and white photography experiment that runs for the month. Basically, taking favourite photos converting them to B&W or shooting in B&W. A photo a day (or thereabouts)....I hope to find a few that may want to play along. So I'm visiting a few blogs with photographic interests. Here's the link if you'd like to join:
