Week 6

Week 6

For the Six One Way flickr group.

I've had a frustrating two weeks of reacting to gluten. The source is a mystery. I even cut out orange juice to see if it helped, but it didn't. (Has anyone heard of orange juice being contaminated with gluten? I thought I read that somewhere...) So every morning I wake up feeling more tired than I was the night before, and by the afternoon I feel as though I could pass out. My motivation has completely disappeared and is replaced by an achy body in desperate need of sleep and rest. Add to that an almost 18-month-old who has hit the "terrible twos" a tad early. Oy vey.

I'm so sorry your not feeling well, you couldn't possibly be pregnant could you?

Have you had your thyroid tested latley? I felt similar and found out I had hypothyroidism. Just a thought. I do hope you feel better soon.

I love your blog! I hear you on the early terrible two's! I have 2 18 month olds and one has decided to start throwing tantrums!! I also loved your last post about cleaning out some toys. I feel as though our living room has been taken over - all they want to do is take things out, not play with them or put them away, just throw them on the floor and move on!
hope you start to feel better!

hope you find the culprit soon and are quickly on your way to healing. hang in there with the little one's stage... this too shall pass. and when you are super-frustrated and are zapped completely of joyful mama energy, look here...

see? told ya! ;)

Check your shampoo and other body products, a good friend is gluten intolerant and she took all of the wheat and rice out of her diet but something was still getting her and then she checked her shampoo and found that there was wheat germ in it that was getting absorbed through her hair.

Love the photo set :)

hey, i have celiac and am also severely allergic to wheat. we've been gluten-free for years.

yes, it could be your oj, for some reason wheat is used in a lot of the processing plants. the only one we can have is the minute maid low acid.

let me know if you wanna talk more. :-)

oh, so sorry to hear of your reaction trouble. It is so difficult when you aren't sure what the cause is! Have you been playing with playdough or something like it? It has gluten in it and my son has terrible reactions to it! Do you drink flavored water (with aroma or any type of non-natural flavoring?) because my son has a similar reaction to that! My kids also react to burning candles. The parafin is from petroleum and really irritates them. Hope you find out soon! I would like to know what it was when you discover it.

I really like this photo set! The colors are vibrant and it all flows together so well! Does it definatly feel like an allergic response, or could you possibly be pregnant?

Gah! Sleep-needing mama + no-sleeping needing rampager = stress. Hope you find the trigger sooooon.

xx

Your tired state sounds just like me, you don't think you're pregnant do you??? ;) Hope you find the cause, and hopefully a cure, very, very soon.

Oh, Erin, I'm sorry to hear about your allergic reaction. I hope you can find the cause soon. I'm sure some warm weather and a few croci would be helpful too. xo

Yes, ditto to Betsy (above), warm weather and a few croci could be just the ticket! I think that tantrum throwing at one is really normal. Both of my kids have done that. When E was one, I remember thinking, "They should call this the terrible ONES and TWOS." Then two came along, and it was so different (not WORSE, exactly, but really a lot different), I realized that I had been kind of wrong, and my perspective shifted. I'm all about the thought that the child's behavior is "neutral" (lol) and it's really the parent's perspective that makes it seem "terrible." Anyway, don't worry about E. Just do some more painting projects. It'll all be OK.

When/if you have a second child, that will fix a lot, too --perspective-wise. ;)
(Just ignore me, you know I'm just playin'. I mean, it's TRUE, but you know I'm just teasing you.)
