First off, thank you thank you thank you ALL for your well wishes and thoughts and prayers. Seriously. Every comment I received in my inbox made me feel so grateful, knowing Kiwi had touched others and was loved by so many. You all are so amazing and kind. Thank you so, so much. It meant so much to us.
Oh man. What a day! I've been training my friend Maria (who has fallen completely head over heels with photography) for the past month. We took today to have a very long, on location photo shoot and lesson. So we headed to the big city for an urban setting. I was the model. I styled each photo, explained how I would shoot, what locations I would choose and why, what I would do with the light, how I would ask the person to sit or stand, whether I would have them smiling or serious, looking at the camera or not, etc. It was awesome. I learned that I love, love, love being in front of the camera. And Maria did an awesome job. All these photos are hers, edited by me. There are more on flickr. She's been shooting for a month (which is when I got her started) and has been fully in manual mode that entire time. She has done amazingly. I am so impressed!
I would love to do couple's shoots in Portland more often. I had SO many ideas. There are so many amazing architectural aspects that can add so much to a photograph. I love the urban setting and colors and textures. It's all so amazing!
Photography is awesome. I love it. I can show everyone how I see the world which is the greatest gift ever. I fall in love with it more and more everyday. How great is that?!!
And just a heads up, I will be offering one-on-one photography lessons online this winter. If you would like to be included on the mailing list, please e-mail me at erin@freyaphotography.com and I will add you to the list. I will have more info soon.
Okie dokie...onto the link!
- after Kiwi passed, Sasa and I just couldn't find any rhyme or reason to why things like this just keep happening. This song was so fitting. It had us both in tears. I tell ya...Jason is definitely an old soul. He's figured out a thing or two in this lifetime...(all of his live stuff in this particular concert is absolutely amazing. check it out!)
- I returned home tonight to pesto soup. PESTO SOUP! ack! It is SO delicious and obviously completely made up by this genius chef of mine. Oh he totally rocks my world. A big smooch to you, Sasa. xoxo

- we were given the most amazing artwork by our friend. i have completely and totally fallen in love with his eye and his use of repurposed materials and colors. and he is so generous with his work. he has given us seven pieces in the last year. and we LOVE them. thanks mark. xoxo

- so, i've been thinking so much about life and everything that goes with it. like the good and the bad. I love my life. i love it so much. even though challenging things keep rearing their ugly heads, i feel so so grateful. i AM lucky. i am with my soul mate. i have an amazing daughter. a quirky, beautiful house. 19 funny and lovely chickens. a dog who is the most brilliant dog i've ever known. my family and sasa's family are amazing and i love them with all my heart. i'm doing what i love. i have so many loving friends who are thoughtful and crazy sweet. sometimes i wonder how this all happened...it's all too wonderful. i never want to stop being grateful. so many of you have e-mailed me in the past two years thanking me for my honesty. i feel like honesty is the gratest gift you can give anybody. so i am very pleased that i have given that to you all. and i always want to continue to.
- check out her prints. so creative and fun!

- so, we went about two months without Netflix or any media viewing at all. we renewed just for this. is that crazy? we love it. i also love Glee. we are so limited in what we watch because we are so sensitive to stress and violence. We like uplifting comedies...any suggestions?
Okay....what are YOU all loving? Show me some links!!
xoxo.
