Well, the tree is already outside (waiting to be decorated with edible ornaments for our animal friends), the decorations are packed away, the rooms have been rearranged to accomodate the new gifts (and the teething puppy), and I am snuggling in with a cup of tea listening to the sleet hitting the window panes. My loves are upstairs asleep...one with a flu, one just plain tired little girl, and one who's supposed to sleep 18 hours a day (right...). Fly is by my side, curled up at my feet. I am so grateful for him and his presence.
Our Christmas was lovely. Dinners with family and friends, delicious food, good wine, laughter, surprises, and lots of love. The presents were handmade or thrifted (more on those later) and it was so nice to celebrate simply. Next year I want it even simpler.
Now we are settling in to a new rhythm with a puppy. Lots of walks, lots of learning, and lots of chewy toys.
We are expecting our first blizzard tonight. We're all anxious to wake up to a winter wonderland. There is hot chocolate to be made, sledding to enjoy, snowmen to construct, and snowshoes in need of wear. I think it will be an exciting day.
I'm anticipating the start of the new year. There is much to reflect upon as we leave behind this past one, and much to look forward to with the fresh start of the next one.
I hope you enjoyed your holidays too. I would love to hear about them. Would you share? xoxo.
