King Winter finally decided to listen to a certain little person's pleas and graced us with over a foot of snow today. And it's still snowing. Hooray! The town pretty much shut down and everyone was cozied up inside their homes. We made hot chocolate, shoveled, played with neighbors, read books, started a new knitting project, drank lots of tea, watched the snow fall, made muffins and butter and whipped cream, and constructed snow forts.
This storm was so perfectly timed; following the bustle of the holiday and forcing everyone to slow down just a little bit more. I loved having nowhere to go and nothing to do. The ease of just being is so very wonderful.
The wind is whipping through our old window panes right now. The house is as cozy as it will be, and the cool outside air that is slowly seeping in is nice to breathe.
