Each year I try to run a local 5k that happens after the 4th of July. Usually I have a wedding on that Saturday and I can't make it, but this year...maybe, just maybe.
The little one has her running shoes, shorts, and shirt at the ready. She races everywhere. She's been practicing multiple times a day, having me time her with a stopwatch.
I have to say, she's getting really fast. Really. She can't wait to run the race.
This is my 10th year running and I try to get out as much as I can. It's literally my only me time. Just me. Nobody else. No other thoughts but breathing, putting one foot in front of the other and just GOING. It saves me. Almost daily.
I'm glad the little one notices this. She knows how much I love it and how it centers me. So, naturally, she loves running too. I can't wait for the race!
