it's official; she is now seven. seven is that much closer to being a double digit. how did this all happen so fast?! she woke up yesterday morning and told me she felt different being seven. we made her a birthday breakfast (she requested chocolate chip pancakes) and had some small gifts for her to open before leaving for school. we delivered pumpkin cupcakes for her class and she came home with a big smile on her face.
two days before we hosted her birthday party. with friends old and new we celebrated the passing of another year. i made her a double chocolate cake, the kids painted and ran around the yard. they each decorated a canvas banner to string together and hang in her room. she received some wonderful, thoughtful gifts, and told us it was the best birthday ever.
i am so proud of the person she is, and the person she continues to become. she is smart, compassionate, helpful, caring, loving, and a joy to be around. she is someone i am so proud to know, and even prouder that i get to be her mama to help guide her through this life.
i love you, little one. you continue to amaze me each and every day...xo
