What can I say about the Perce family? They rock. They're full of giggles and silly faces and good food and fun. I learned just how handy trucks can be (seriously...an entire BBQ, potted mums and all, can fit in the back!) and how yummy burgers smell out in the open air. We met at one of my favorite locations, and one of the locations for my family photo shoot promo this October. There is a super cute children's garden, where these three spent what seemed like hours picking things for dinner.
And for all those with more than one child, photographing multiple kids in a family can be a wee bit tricky. But you have to go with the flow. Don't expect smiles from everyone all at the same time. It just doesn't happen, especially when you're shying away from the traditional posed shots. But here's what I love...years from now when you look back on your family photos and see silly faces galore, a hat pulled over somebody's head, or a burger face, you'll remember your children for exactly who they were and be so thankful for photos that capture their very essence.
So, without further ado, here's the Perce family! Enjoy!!
So I say...let kids be kids! I love all the crazy expressions and the pure joy of just being little. It rocks!

Oh my gosh. Words can not describe this absolutely adorable family. Seriously. The little one had me in giggles the whole time. Her cuteness was too much to bear! She is a mere 18 months, but had an amazing vocabulary (I will forever remember, "Seeeegaahhls!") and the most spectacular personality. The whole family was just the laid back, go with the flow, have lots of fun kinda gang...and that ROCKS!
They are not from Maine, but stay in a summer home for a couple of weeks each summer nearby. I was honored they chose me as their photographer. We chose scenery that is both beautiful and also depicts Maine. So Pemaquid it was!
So guys...I hope you enjoy your previews!! It was a pleasure. I really, really hope we can do it again!

And somebody really liked my cameras and bags. She tried so hard to get my second camera. What a cutie! At one point she did make it to my bag and was so pleased with herself...

Oh, this family. I adored them so much. Four kids, two awesome parents, their aunt (who happens to be one of my best friends!), a dozen chickens, fields of blueberries and grape vines, and the greenest grass I've ever seen. It made for one awesome night and one awesome photo shoot.
You guys rock! Thank you so much for the lovely evening!!! Enjoy!

This sweet family spent a week in Maine after leaving their home state of Tennessee. I was so honored to be their chosen photographer and had a great time capturing their spirit and the beauty of the coast of Maine. And the girls...oh the girls. They were such a riot! Kids are great little models and I so enjoyed getting to know these ones. I drove up to where they were staying and the two eldest were in the driveway playing. They came over, stuck their heads in my car window and said, "Are you the picture taker?" I replied with, "Yup! I am!" And they giggled and said, "Cool!" Then later they thanked me for taking their pictures. So sweet.
So here's a peek at this gorgeous family! Thank you so much for letting me photograph you guys. Enjoy!

I had the pleasure of photographing these six wee little cousins last night. They are the cutest! Each one was so super cute and had their own unique way of being with the camera. It was quite a learning experience for me...I've never photographed so many children together at once! They were good sports though, and the bubbles and lollipops totally paid off!
And introducing...my new name! freya photography has been something I wanted to change it to for a long time now. I finally switched over the domain and a new set of marketing materials are being designed now. Yay!
